1. How would you describe electrons to your friends?
Wave notes:
In phase means that the waves are both going up and down at the same time. When you combine both waves the new wave doubles in size and amplitude.
Out of phase means that the waves are going in opposite directions. When combined they create no wave.
Quantum= small/ unique events
First, I would describe electrons as very small pieces of matter that you can't physically see. Then because I'm a visual learner, I would compare electrons to a person who sneezes. The person who has all this built up energy would be the nucleus, and the electrons would be the particles being ejected from the person. When a person sneezes they have a very small reaction time, therefore in most cases a person, will cover or not. When a person covers there mouth the particles are covered on the persons hand or arm. If the person sneezing and does not cover the particles are floating around in the air. This reminds me of electrons, floating around in the air until they hit an object. Electrons, also reflect characteristics of waves. Electrons react with others when they hit an object. Basically, electrons are negative charges floating around in the air and you cannot see them but you know they are there.
